The conscious selection of lavera resources and their strict quality control pay off. The innovative lavera care products have already impressed many juries – the brand has won coveted prizes voted for by users, and succeeded in impressing experts from independent test magazines.
Since June 1992, lavera products have been awarded top marks by independent test magazine ÖKO-TEST around 740 times.
As a result, lavera Naturkosmetik ranks higher than other brands.
The ÖKO-TEST evaluation criteria are based on current research results, which may also differ from the EU Cosmetics Directive and the Cosmetics Regulation. ÖKO-TEST bases its evaluations on the study results of the Information Network of Departments of Dermatology (Göttingen) and the University of Zürich, amongst others. In some instances, their own test parameters go beyond existing laws if current findings confirm negative effects on the human organism.
ÖKO-TEST does not evaluate all 26 of the fragrances classified by the EU as allergenic, as only a few fragrances have a significant allergic potential in relation to their use in cosmetic products. It also distinguishes between isolated, synthetic fragrance ingredients and essential oils with their natural fragrance structures.
Synthetic UV filters are classified by ÖKO-TEST as dangerous and are devalued one level (effects on the endocrine system have been demonstrated, in particular in growth-related phases)
Chlorinated aluminium salts block the pores and prevent natural perspiration – ÖKO-TEST therefore marks down one level for these.
PEG and PEG derivatives lead to devaluations by two levels as they have been demonstrated to affect the skin's protective barrier.
Polycyclic musk compounds are allergenic and accumulate in adipose tissue – ÖKO-TEST marks down two levels for these.
For the third time in a row, NATRUE-certified lavera NATURKOSMETIK products have been certified as a "GREEN BRAND Germany" by an independent panel of judges.
This international quality label distinguishes brands that practice certified ecological sustainability, and transparently demonstrate and advocate these values both within and outside of the company.

Out of the seven tested products, the Neutral Body Lotion came out on top. The tried and tested care product for very dry to allergy-prone skin impressed end-users and the jury of the online magazine and came out with the top score. Of the seven tested products in the "body lotions" category, the lavera Neutral Body Lotion emerged victorious. In addition to the high quality of the ingredients, the positive customer reviews in online shops were also taken into consideration.
