For thousands of years, true chamomile has been one of the most important healing herbs in folklore. Chamomile is an aromatically scented herb with branching stalks and multiple feathered leaves, growing up to 50 cm high. From May to September, chamomile produces golden yellow flower heads surrounded by white tongue-shaped radial flower petals. The plant grows all over Europe and Asia.
The therapeutic effects of chamomile are predominantly ascribed to the essential oil. This extract has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and serves to care for sensitive, inflamed and dry skin.
